The ConsumerPowerline executive team combines a wealth of experience in energy management, engineering, information technology, marketing, and finance.

Gary Fromer, Chief Executive Officer

As chief executive officer of ConsumerPowerline, Gary is responsible for advancing the company’s product portfolio and continuing to expand its presence into new and current markets, as well as running the day-to-day operations of the company. Gary joined ConsumerPowerline in 2007. Prior to joining ConsumerPowerline, Gary served as senior vice president of SAP Managed Services, where he oversaw SAP’s Hosting, Application Management and CRM on-demand businesses in the Americas. Gary also held various other roles at SAP including: senior vice president, SMB and Hosting; chief strategy officer for SAP Markets, Inc.; and vice president, new business and partner solutions for SAP America, Inc. Prior to joining SAP in 1998, Gary worked at Unisys Corporation. Gary earned a BS in Economics (Finance) from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, a BA in Philosophy from the University of Pennsylvania, and a JD from Columbia University Law School.

Michael B. Gordon, Chief Strategy Officer and Founder

As chief strategy officer and founder of ConsumerPowerline, Mike is responsible for identifying strategic alliances, building the firm's vision of how energy markets should be structured, and creating the new products and services within these markets. Mike founded ConsumerPowerline in 2001. Mike is a 24-year veteran of the energy industry having built several profit- and non-profit businesses that have saved buyers more than $400 million through aggregated purchase of commodities. Beyond creating market makers in the demand response sale of capacity and energy, Mike has also written and delivered energy curricula, listening and critical analysis curricula, and environmental responsibility curricula to more than 200 schools, national educational campaigns, and the central New York City Department of Education. Mike earned a generalist BA from the State University of New York at Binghamton, a generalist MPA from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, and an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Steven Minisini, President of Field Operations

As president of field operations, Steven is responsible for leading the company’s sales, account management, and partner development activities. Steven joined ConsumerPowerline in 2008. Prior to joining ConsumerPowerline, Steven served as founder and chief executive officer of Waterstreet Management Group, a strategic management consulting firm specializing in high technology and M&A. Previously Steven worked at i2 Technologies in several executive leadership positions including executive vice president and president of the Americas Region, where he was responsible for sales, consulting, business development, and customer satisfaction across the United States, Canada, Latin America, and Mexico. He has also held executive management positions at Univa and Antares Alliance Group (a joint venture between EDS and Amdahl). Steven earned a BA from State University of New York at Oswego.

Michael Mele, Chief Financial Officer

As chief financial officer, Michael is responsible for the company’s financial and administrative operations. Michael joined ConsumerPowerline in 2008. Prior to joining ConsumerPowerline, Michael served as the chief financial officer of Archive Systems Inc., a venture capital backed provider of on demand document management services. Earlier in his career, Michael was the chief financial officer of ASI Solutions Inc., a NASDAQ listed provider of human resource outsourcing services. Michael earned an AB in Economics from Rutgers College and an MBA from Rutgers University. Michael became a CPA in New Jersey in 1978.

Dirk Mahling, Vice President of Service and Technology

As vice president of service and technology of ConsumerPowerline, Dirk is responsible for installing and delivering energy services as well as continually creating new and innovative products. Dirk joined ConsumerPowerline in 2007. Prior to joining ConsumerPowerline, Dirk served as chief technology officer for WebGen where he created patent-pending energy management software. During that time he won the Frost and Sullivan award for customer value and the Buildy award for most innovate energy product. Dirk has an extensive background in technology and management consulting, having served as global general manager for the knowledge management practice at Primix. He held similar positions in the knowledge management practices of Ernst & Young and ATKearney. Dirk earned an MA in Psychology and Computer Science from the Brunswick Institute of Technology (Germany). He received a PhD in Computer and Information Science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He is also a Fulbright Scholar and has an appointment with the University of Pittsburgh, PA.

Malcolm Smith, Executive Vice President, Industrial Vertical

As executive vice president of the industrial vertical at ConsumerPowerline, Malcolm is responsible for developing and managing ConsumerPowerline’s industrial business. Malcolm joined ConsumerPowerline in 2008 through the acquisition of Xtend Energy. Prior to joining ConsumerPowerline, Malcolm served as chief executive officer of Xtend Energy, a provider of demand response services to industrial customers and president of Energy Data Source, a provider of energy metering and management solutions. Malcolm has been a leader at technology-based energy companies for the last fifteen years and has expertise in demand response; electricity restructuring; gas, water and electric metering; and information technology. He has served in executive management positions at energy and technology-related companies since 1993 including Aurora Natural Gas, Aurion Technologies, and Southwest Internet Marketing Services Corporation. Malcolm earned a BA from Williams College and is currently a member of the Board of Trustees of Williams College.

Chelle IzziVice President of National Accounts and Vertical Markets

As vice president of national accounts and vertical markets, Chelle is responsible for developing and managing ConsumerPowerline’s national accounts and industry-focused vertical businesses in key segments such as healthcare, education, retail, and government. Chelle joined ConsumerPowerline in 2004. Chelle is a frequent speaker at industry events such as PLMA, EUCI, DistribuTECH, FEMP and TFM. Chelle has 18 years of experience in general management, marketing, product management, international business development, strategy, and change management. She has developed, launched, and managed new products and services in the consumer products, professional services, and non-profit sectors across the United States and Asia. Chelle speaks Mandarin Chinese, holds a BS in Foreign Service from Georgetown University and an MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurship from Columbia Business School.

Jennifer Chow, Vice President of Marketing

As vice president of marketing, Jennifer is responsible for leading marketing, communications, lead generation, and sales enablement initiatives to support ConsumerPowerline’s growth and market position. Jennifer joined ConsumerPowerline in 2007. Prior to joining ConsumerPowerline, Jennifer was responsible for marketing and business development of the Hosting and Application Management Services businesses in the Americas at SAP, a twelve billion dollar business software company. Jennifer has extensive experience in marketing, product marketing, and product management and held similar positions at Comergent Technologies (acquired by Sterling Commerce, an AT&T Company) and Oracle Corporation. Jennifer holds a BS in Economics (Finance and Marketing) and an MBA in Marketing and Management from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
